As a church, we seek to worship God in all of life as a response for who He is and what He has done. We believe that worshipping the Lord is the ultimate purpose of the church and that God alone is to be worshipped. For this reason, we read Scripture, pray, praise, confess, sing, give, offer thanksgiving, preach and teach, and obey the ordinances. This privilege to worship God includes our times of gathering together for worship services and extends into our daily lives as we scatter into our homes, careers, and communities.
We also see from Scripture that every person in the Kingdom of God has a part to play in the Church. Those who have been saved by Jesus Christ are also empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve God in the body of Christ and to make Him known in our communities. We seek to equip the people of Emmanuel to identify and use the gifts that God has given them to serve the Church and share the gospel through intentional discipleship, preaching and teaching, and in depth training in differing contexts like Sunday School and Growth Groups.
Further, this worship and equipping extends into the way we proclaim Christ to a world that desperately needs Him. Every believer has been called by Jesus Christ to make disciples and each believer is uniquely placed to do that in different ways with different people. At Emmanuel, we want to make the name of Christ known in our own spheres of influence with our families, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and in this community.
